Place all the ingredients for the sponge cake in a mixing bowl.

Mix them until you get fluffy cake batter.

Add the coffee mixture to the batter.

Keep mixing until all the is combined.

Pour the batter into a rectangle baking pan. And bake in a preheated oven for 35 minutes.

While the cake is baking, get the buttercream ready. Place the butter and icing sugar in a mixing bowl.

Mix the butter and icing sugar then add coffee mixture.

Once the cake is baked. Let it cool completely on a rack.

When the cake is cooled, spread the buttercream over the top.
