plain flour. eggs. sugar. instant yeast. whole milk. salt. butter. icing sugar.
Place the flour, sugar, and yeast in a mixing bowl. Stir well.
Whisk the milk into the eggs. Mix well.
Pour the egg mixture into the flour mixture. Whisk well until you get a smooth batter.
Cover the batter with a tea towel or a cling film. Let it rest for about 20 minutes until there are bubbles on the top.
When the batter is ready, add the melted butter. And stir well.
Preheat the mould. And fill each cavity upto 2/3 of it. Cook at medium heat.
Using a skewer or a toothpick, roll and turn the half way cooked poffertjes. Leave them to cook for a minute or two between turning.
Your poffertjes are ready when they are fully cooked and golden brown. Drizzle generously with icing sugar before serving.
