Devy Dar

Hi there, Devy here.

I’m the chef, the writer, the photographer, and the founder of this little webspace. Here, you can find a collection of my foolproof food recipes from South Asia, South East Asia, and beyond.

My works have been featured in Reader’s Digest, Al Jazeera, MSN, Yahoo, Bon Appetit, and more. I am also a writer for AP and MSN.

After exploring various cultures and cuisines for three decades, I founded So Yummy Recipes and Drizzling Flavor to share my love of food. My mission is to help others easily recreate traditional and non-traditional food with readily available ingredients.

I was once hopeless in cooking. But I love my food. And I love eating good food.

So, over the years, I’ve trained and learned how to put tasty food on the table that everybody can enjoy. However, I must admit that sometimes my kids complained that I didn’t put enough salt or spices in my cooking. Like everyone else, life distracts our minds sometimes, and it can be reflected in our cooking.

That’s why I started this blog so that I can always revisit my recipe notes. Plus, I told my sons to check and follow my recipe cards if they ever want my cooking when they’re out of the house one day.

I’m an Indonesian living on the outskirts of the rainy city of Manchester, UK, and I’ve been blessed to be able to travel to some countries across Asia and Europe. I even once lived in Japan, where I learned the first foreign culture and cuisine firsthand.

When I am not busy looking after my sons, websites, and the house, I love walking outdoors or reading good books.
